Low Touch Economy Solutions

Keeping up productivity and profitability in a low touch economy have been major challenges faced by many companies. In this new era we have integrated occupational health and safety (OH&S) know-how with our business acumen to develop customized solutions. There are many decisions that fit into the low-touch-economy umbrella, such as social distancing, video conferencing, glass protection walls and visors, remote work, and so on.

Organizations have been forced to remain adaptable, yet incorporate policies to protect workers, suppliers and customers, among others. In these uncertain times low touch interactions, business creativity, and a well-founded understanding of OH&S play a major role to provide safe premises and remain competitive. With the latter in mind we are working on the following areas of expertise:

We advise companies embracing remote work and becoming digital-first, in order to adopt an effective virtual business model, characterized by service excellence and ongoing communication, without losing sight of customers’ requirements. Online education, counseling and booking, and e-commerce are no longer trends, but overall business shifts we have integrated together with our clients. Successful implementation of these new approaches requires OH&S expertise and a crosscutting understanding of business.

In this transition, we assist companies that have a significant number of remote workers and put in place wellness programs, including healthy food by means of home catering, plans for active breaks for work from home (WFH), and online fitness.

In order to ensure a safe return to offices and production plants, we work together with our clients to make evidence-based decisions, grounded on an approach aimed at protecting the health of workers and minimizing the exposure to potential legal issues.

In conducting this evaluation designed to help companies reopen their premises, we review data associated with work-related risks. This enables management to make better decisions taking into consideration existing infrastructure and potential transportation schemes to work based on the location of workers' homes, among others.

We also advise companies on how to set their facilities to ensure compliance with new protocols and processes. Following analyses of companies' operations we establish effective measures to deal with priority issues, including special attention of the most vulnerable, such as the elderly, pregnant women, and those with special healthcare needs.

In accordance with management we implement solutions to protect our clients’ teams, taking measures such as contact tracing and the identification of high risk occupations and activities. Likewise, our consultants undertake individualized care plans, which allow the prompt recovery of workers who are recuperating at home or are in preventive isolation.

We advise organizations on how to design and implement practicable engineering controls to maximize social distancing and prevent the transmission of viruses in the context of prevalent respiratory infections. These types of solutions are effective in protecting the health of workers, suppliers and customers. Engineering controls that meet the above purposes include physical barriers, such as transparent plastic protective covers; adjustments to work environments to increase ventilation; and proper signage in company premises to ensure safe distance and compliance with protocols, among others.
