Securitas Consulting was chosen by a leading oil company for the development and effective implementation of an occupational health surveillance and prevention program (OHSPP) for the prevention of hearing loss and hearing conservation (HL&C). Additionally the firm was responsible for designing and undertaking a scheme to safely and proficiently employ the people from local communities in the oil blocks operated by the company.

Our work enabled nonstop business and guaranteed continuous income for our client, which faced immediate interruption of its operations had it not complied with the legal and occupational health and safety (OH&S) requirements it faced.

Some of the goals achieved through the effective implementation of the firm’s guidelines were the following:

Accident rates were considerably reduced in a population of workers with high turnover, without disrupting the social dynamics within the community the company operated.

Our legal advice and OH&S consulting during the audits by the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH: Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos) yielded the results expected by the company, which was obliged to comply with the agency's requirements.

Based on our findings as a result of the review conducted within the company, adjustments were made to its Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), in accordance with the industry's highest OH&S standards.

Implementing the necessary adjustments to safe work procedures (SWP) and process safety management (PSM), in conjunction with our legal advice, enabled continuity of the company's oil operation. Thereby our joint efforts avoided considerable losses to the company, which would have surfaced in the event of a temporary closure of essential blocks.
